9-1-08 - Aberdeen State Finals -  A FANTASTIC day of racing! Lots of competition from all over, and fast riders from several states. A big hand goes out to Kyle Oswald and his crew for running a great facility and continuing to carry the South Dakota BMX torch for many years. You can tell the dedication and care that has gone into that track/organization and to bring in such a big local following of riders and families.  The Pro Race was awesome! The Upper Midwest has some FAST RIDERS!

SD State Finals PHOTOS HERE (500 Photos)

Before anyone orders photos from this weekend, wait until later Monday, because I’ll have some special offers up. Hold tight!

Great job Aberdeen! And thanks for inviting everyone out for a fun weekend!
__________________________________________________________________________________

On a side note (My own 2 cents here)  - I was amazed at a small handful of riders and families that continue to take this sport a little to serious. Some of you need to take a break! When I see someone yelling at their “5 year old” telling him he didn’t do good, and this is costing way to much money if he isn’t going to take is serious. Come on! HE’S A LITTLE KID!

Or the riders that are out to “Take another rider out” What??? You racers can’t win fair and square?

PARENTS - Stay out of your kids business! When I see parents out arguing and making a public scene, It just makes me sick! You are not only looking like a fool in public, but maybe stop and think about your own children and what an embarrassment you are to them and this sport. Go back to you tent, mellow out, throw things around, kick a chair. DO WHATEVER IT IS YOU NEED TO DO, but do it in private! Better yet, find a sport that allows that! BMX is meant to be a fun family sport.

PARENTS/ALCOHOL AT THE RACES - Why can’t people wait until the day is done? When the last race is over, go celebrate, go relax, kick back and hangout with friends and have a beer then!  This is a “family/public sport” If you want to drink beer during some sporting event, go watch a Nascar race. THIS IS A KIDS SPORT, for the most part, and what image are people giving off to the kids and the public that stops by to check it out?

PLEASE SEND YOUR HATE MAIL HERE ATR@AllTheRacing.com, I have no problem hearing any explanation as to why all this is good for our sport, and your own kids.

8-26-08 - Rum River BMX - Stopped by there tonight. I am AMAZED at the turnouts they are getting on a Tuesday nights! So many new faces I have never seen before. It sounds as though their local riders are very loyal. It was interesting to see that entire grass parking area FULL, 3 rows deep of parking! Rum River Staff’s hard work and dedication has clearly paid off.

To show my appreciation to all those new and regular friendly faces that seem to be very loyal to Rum River, tonight’s photos from the 1st moto’s are all high resolution and no watermark, so they can be printed off free and should be able to print them as big as 8x12’s if wanted. PHOTOS HERE

Faribault -  As usually it is always a great and relaxing time  there. Everything went smoothly and racing was great! Thank’s Juvland’s & the rest of the helpers/Staff! It’s nice to see families step up to the plate and pitch in when help is short.

Glencoe - Now, this place was as far from what I have heard and seen photo’s of. You drive in to town, AND THERE IT IS! This will allow everyone to take part in the Mankato/Faribault State qualifiers and still be able to make the trip to Brainerd on Sunday.

FYI- The watermark on all ATR photos has been moved to the middle for now. REASON, I have run across several photos on blogs and Myspace accounts where the ATR watermark has been removed or cropped out. I find this extremely RUDE and non-caring as to how you feel, I personally take the time come and show my support towards you and the sport of BMX in general. I have made it clear that you may use ATR photos as they are, on other sites and blogs as long as the watermark has been left on there. I figure if you feel they are good enough to be on your personal site or blog, then you should at least respect where they came from, or find them elsewhere.

6-1-08 - What a FANTASTIC weekend at Green Lake BMX!
We had a 2 hour delay Saturday only to wait for the track drying process that MaMa Nature left behind. But once it all got going, it was awesome, PLUS a record turnout! Green Lake staff did a great job for the State Qualifier being  their first race of the year!
After hearing a little more of their history from the beginning in 2000, and what it has lead to, and all that they have done as a group, it is yet another Minnesota BMX track story of how GREAT people have come together and provided service for local youth and the rest of this states dedicated BMXer’s.
Sunday was a little lighter, and the track even better for the Race For Life. But the racing was still intense!
Saturday State Qualifier PHOTOS HERE
Sunday Race For Life PHOTOS HERE
Still waiting to find a chance to get the camera cleaned, so just ignore that HUGE spot on some of them, didn’t have time to clean them up, since that Amazin’ Asian kid was putting pressure on me with getting the photos online...
VIDEO- SQ video of the mains should be up in a day or two, so hang in there please
Watch for the clip of the weekend coming up ...M. Johnson (Action BMX), T. Rixen (Team ATR), A. Walden (Rehbein’s) all going down in the cruiser mains.... Rather entertaining....
FYI- ATR will be offering online photo purchasing again soon. Along with this for a short time we will be offering oversized posters as well. STAY TUNED....

5-22-08 - Message From Rum River - The Soil-tac has cured hard enough to ride on at Rum River BMX and it is only getting harder and faster. We will be racing tonight (Thursday the 22nd of May) reg. from 5:30 – 6:30p w/racing to follow as a make up for Tuesday's missed race. We had about 40 riders show up last night for the community night and they loved the results of the tac on the track. We will be applying extra sealing coats over the weekend which is a normal process. We will also work to repair some of the minor damage that the rain had caused.
We are still working most nights at the track trying to complete the face lift that we are in process of giving the track so if you have a few hours of time please check with Ty Nelson or myself. We could really use your help to finish up the processes…besides it is rewarding to help!
Also in addition to next weeks normal schedule we are hosting our Race against hunger on Friday night May 30th, reg from 5:30 - 6:30 w/racing to follow. This race is designed to benefit the local food shelves. If you bring down non-perishable food items you can earn up to $3 off your race fee. Help us to help others. Also team managers, owners, and riders… If your team drops off the most items for the drive you can win a free personalized team practice at Rum River BMX. Remember to give until it hurts.. as some people hurt when we don’t give.
Ride hard…. Never quit!
__________________________________________________________________________________
5-20-08 - Urgent Rum River Message - On Sunday we sprayed the track with soil-tac going off the great forecast provided of only a 30% chance of rain. Well as you know they were wrong... we got poured on to the tune of almost an inch of rain Monday Afternoon. The track held up pretty nicely but it is soft since it has not had the 2 to 3 days of dry curing for the soil-tac. We have spent countless hours working on the track and lots of dollars getting the soil-tac sprayed so we are post poning tonight's race until Thursday the 22nd of May. That is this Thursday night! Reg. will be from 5:30 - 6:30p the board feels that this will give the track time to dry tonight and tomorrow. We do have a community night practice scheduled for tomorrow at from 6:00 - 8:00 pm that we intend on running provided we don't see any rain and we get some warm weather for the track to dry. Please help us spread the word to all your racing friends as we know with the good weather people will just be showing up not knowing we are pushing out our race. We hope you understand the change is strictly based on what we feel is in the best interests of the track and our racing community for the summer season.
Sorry for any inconveniences....
__________________________________________________________________________________
5-18-07 - Message From  Lakes Area BMX - The Lakes Area BMX track in Brainerd is off to a flying start after a rough summer in 2007. Saturday's new rider clinic was booming with 25 new ABA members signing up. Most of the new riders made there way back for Sunday's race with a total of 89 entries making up 21 motos. In the past, Brainerd hosted some of the largest rider counts in the state, averaging over 120 weekly. After relocating and starting well into the summer last season, entries dipped to only 50-60 on a weekly basis. Now, with the track in near perfect condition and most of the off track facilites complete, there is a lot of excitement as the new outdoor season begins to unfold.

Brainerd will be racing again next Sunday at 1pm before shifting to Tuesday nights on June 3. Free weekly practice begins this Thursday at 6pm.
